چکیده

A series of mesoporous catalysts (MCM-41) promoted by copper oxide nanoparticles were prepared by the co-precipitation method and tested for the decomposition of carbon tetrafluoride (CF4). The addition of copper oxide nanoparticles to MCM-41 led to an improvement in the catalytic activity for CF4 decomposition. The catalyst was the most active around 5 wt% copper oxide added to MCM-41. Methods of X-Ray Powder Diffractometer, Scanning Electron Microscope Energy Dispersive Spectrometer, BET, and high resolution transmission electron microscopy were used to characterize the MCM-41 catalysts. The analytical results indicated that the addition of over 2 wt% copper oxide nanoparticles increased the surface area of MCM-41, which was the rate-determining factor of CF4 decomposition over MCM-41 catalyst. In conclusion, the addition of copper oxide was responsible for the enhancement of catalytic activity of MCM-41.

Hydrogen production from methanol decomposition over Pt/Al2O3 and ceria promoted Pt/Al2O3 catalysts

We present the activities and selectivities of Pt/Al2O3-based catalysts in the production of hydrogen from methanol through catalytic decomposition. For the decomposition reaction, the Pt and Pd catalysts promoted by ceria exhibit similar activity reaching 100% conversion at 315 C. Promoting with ceria had a positive effect on activity and selectivity. Among all catalysts, the 9% Pt– 10% CeO2/A...

Hydrogenation of succinic acid to 1,4-butanediol over rhenium catalyst supported on copper-containing mesoporous carbon.

Copper-containing mesoporous carbon (Cu-MC) was prepared by a single-step surfactant-templating method. For comparison, copper-impregnated mesoporous carbon (Cu/MC) was also prepared by a surfactant-templating method and a subsequent impregnation method. Rhenium catalysts supported on copper-containing mesoporous carbon and copper-impregnated mesoporous carbon (Re/Cu-MC and Re/Cu/MC, respective...

An Investigation into the Effect of Hydrotalcite Calcination Temperature on the Catalytic Performance of Mesoporous Ni-MgO-Al2O3 Catalyst in the Combined Steam and Dry Reforming of Methane

Several mesoporous nickel-based catalysts with MgO-Al2O3 as the catalyst support were prepared using a co-precipitation method at a constant pH. The supports were prepared from the decomposition of an Mg-Al hydrotalcite-like structure which had already been prepared with Mg/Al=1. Prior to impregnating 10 wt.% nickel on the supports, the precursor was decomposed at several ...

A Study of Low-Temperature CO Oxidation over Mesoporous CuO-TiO2 Nanotube Catalysts

Supported copper oxide nanoparticles have attracted considerable attention as active and non-precious catalysts for many catalytic oxidation reactions. Herein, mesoporous xCuO-TiO2 nanotube catalysts were fabricated, and their activity and kinetics toward CO oxidation were studied. The morphology and structure of the prepared catalysts were systematically studied using SEM, TEM, EDS, EDX, XRD, ...
